Wailing Women

I believe it is time for women to come together and pray. Most people of faith know that prayer changes things, but when do we actually spend time in prayer? Our lives are so busy we get up and from the time we open our eyes until we close them to sleep, we are in a hurry.

We tend to put prayer on the back burner. Most of our churches have some time devoted to prayer but generally there are only a few people who attend prayer services.

I recently spoke with someone in Philly who told me she went to a church and during their service someone came up to pray. Instead of the quick minute most of us devote to prayer during our worship service, the person prayed for over an hour. We both agreed most people would have walked out if someone prayed that long during service.

Ask yourself...Would you have walked out or would you join in to pray for the extended time?

We need to pray more folks, we need to pray and seek God's face because this world needs it terribly.

Jeremiah 9:17-18 says, "Thus says the Lord of Hosts: consider and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for skillful wailing women, that they may come. Let them make haste and take up a wailing for us. That our eyes may run with tears, and our eyelids gush with water."

When was the last time you cried out to the Lord to help us live in a way that is pleasing to Him?

Two weeks ago our Wailing Women's group prayed from 9 pm to 9 am. That was a first for many of us but it was a wonderful experience. In fact it was incredible. If you would like to learn more about the Wailing Women intercessory prayer ministry let me know.

Lord help us to seek your face and pray more. We need you Father. We need you desperately.

All women and men with a burden for prayer are invited to our Prayer Summit 2007 on Saturdsy Nov 3, 2007 from 9am to 6pm at 817 Livonia Avenue, Brooklyn NY 11210 at New Hope Family Worship Center. Email info@wailingwomen.org to register ofr for more info.

Our intention is to have reps of all denominations praying in one accord. There is no registration fee but you must register to reserve your seat. Teachings will involve a messianic pastor teaching on the new covenant and correcting our knowledge of the customary use by the jews of the prayer shawl, shofar etc. We feel that this will the beginning of Jews and Gentiles coming together to fulfill God's will since Jesus cannot come until the Jews come to Jesus.

We also wish to connect with believers who have visions or a burden for the wailing women for a panel discussion so that we may work together as a team to fulfill God's purpose.

This is from Pastor Johnson, Nigeria. Honestly in not less than an hour, it just struck me on the issues most women bring to me for assistance. Some mostly are complaining of their wards, their business and many others and i feel touched and i look forward to pray and organise a prayer summit for these women. Pastor Johnson, Anglican church Mile 14 Nike, Enugu, Nigeria.
