The Grace and Mercy of God

The Random House College Dictionary says that redemption is 1) the act of redeeming 2) the state of being redeemed 3) deliverance; rescue. 4) deliverance from sin; salvation 5) atonement for guilt 6) repurchase as of something sold 7) paying off, as of a mortgage, bond, or note 8) recovery of payment as of something pledged and 9) conversion or exchange as of paper money for specie.

By all accounts redemption is a good thing. We have been redeemed from our sins through the shed blood of Jesus. We have been delivered, and set free. We have salvation. That's a good thing wouldn't you say? How wonderful to know we have been rescued. Our debts canceled. Now don't you feel good? When was the last time you helped someone else feel good? When was the last time you said, "you know it doesn't matter what you did to me...I forgive you -- You don't have to worry about a thing - we're straight? Isn't it time you let somebody else off the hook for hurting or disappointing you? Why not try it today. Give someone a little grace, provide for them a way to be redeemed from the negative state they are in and help them through the redemption process. Ah-ah-ah I feel better now.

Redemption is a good thing. It is a very good thing.
